§ 9.15. Expedited Discharge for Cause.

    A department head or the City Manager with concurrence of the city attorney may notify an employee of intent to discharge the employee in an expedited manner for just cause. The department head or City Manager may so notify the employee only after following the procedures set forth in Section 9.30.

    B.

    Grounds for expedited discharge include, but are not limited to, dishonesty concerning city business, theft, flagrant insubordination, violence, deliberate disregard of the law, including ordinances and city rules and regulations, aggravated cause for discharge, intentional misrepresentation or omission from any information the employee provided to the city relating to employee's application for employment (whether by written application form, resume, oral statement or otherwise), or other just cause.

    C.

    If an employee is indicted in state or federal court on a felony charge the employee may be placed on leave without pay and benefits may be suspended after consultation with the city attorney.
