§ 18.170. Easements in Minor Subdivisions.

  • Easements for sewers, water mains, electric lines or other public utilities shall be dedicated whenever necessary. The easements shall be at least twenty (20) feet wide and, where applicable, centered on rear or side lot lines with ten (10) feet of the easement on each side of the rear or side lot lines. No permanent structures or improvements shall be built in the easements. Non-permanent structures and/or non-permanent improvements built in easements are subject to removal, as needed for use of or access to the easement, at the sole expense of the property owner. The City shall not be responsible or liable for the costs(s) of reconstructing or replacing any such non-permanent structures or non-permanent improvements that require removal in order to facilitate the use of, or access to, the easement.
