§ 17.36.040. Vacancies.

A.

A vacancy on the commission shall be filled as provided in Section 17.36.020 for a remainder of the term of the former member.

B.

A vacancy occurs when:

1.

A confirmed appointee fails to qualify and assume the duties of the office within thirty days of confirmation;

2.

A member departs the city intending to remain outside the city for ninety days or more;

3.

A member submits a resignation accepted by the council;

4.

A member, due to incapacity or absence from the city, cannot attend commission meetings for ninety days or more;

5.

A member is absent from three consecutive regular commission meetings without the commission excusing any such absence.
